    An architect must have the required qualifications in their area of expertise and will obviously have an aptitude for mathematics. They have to study in detail the areas of structural engineering and keep themselves up to date with the latest developments in the industry.     Experience

They need to have a few years experience before they can go out on their own and work independently. The reason they need to collect experience is that they have quite a responsible job to perform when it comes to designing a building. If they make one small mistake, the building will either not look good or will not have the required integrity.

    In the past architects had to draw everything by hand using rulers and calculators to design a building to scale. However, with the advancement of technology and computers, many architects now use computer programs to design buildings.
